Homeschool Classroom Benefits
By Mary Joyce, Sat Dec 10th

The homeschool classroom is far from being the traditionalclassroom. The daily schedule is far from the traditionalclassroom schedule. At homeschool you can literally put yourfeet up. Take a break when you need a break. Even eat lunch whenyou get hungry. Many times there is no chalkboard…. Theredoesn’t have to be one.

No need for a hall or bathroom pass! No bells ringing in thehomeschool classroom to signal the end of one class and thebeginning of another. And you certainly don’t have to sit at adesk all day.

In the homeschool classroom the teacher doesn’t have to try tocoordinate

the minds and the abilities of 30 different kids. Theteacher can coordinate the lesson plan to fit the learningability and the interest of the child. In the homeschoolclassroom you can focus on a few key subjects and pick upwhatever other interests from there.

The use of the school day’s time is also a benefit tohomeschooling. In the home school classroom, there are noadministrative duties the teacher must spend working on so thetime is spent on education. And with the much better teacher tostudent ratio that is a part of homeschooling, the learninggenerally occurs at a quicker yet more thorough pace.

Many benefits of homeschooling to be sure and the growingnumbers of those parents opting for the homeschooling optionbear these benefits out. Probably the biggest reason sited byparents is the growing dissatisfaction with the public system.

Homeschooling is certainly not without its critics andcriticisms. The social aspect and interaction with other (thelack of it) generally top the list of criticisms ofhomeschooling. There are many support groups and organizationsthat have formed over the years to help the home school parentaddress much of the criticism.

Be confident, if you know your children and you know how tolearn, you’ll always be able to teach your children.
