Does it not amaze you to this daywhen you hear on of your favorite songs come on the radio and assoon as the lyrics begin you can jump right in and sing alongeven though you perhaps haven’t heard this song in months oreven years! Learning through lyric and rhyme is very powerfulstuff! With some careful searching you can come up with many
songs,lyrics, and rhymes that fit well with your homeschool lesson plan or unit study. Some sites even have theme related songswhich are fantastic to add to your homeschooling materials andsupplies! Even if you don’t find a particular great match forwhat you may be teaching at the time…. Write you own. Yes, witha little practice, you can not only write your own songs… overtime you’ll be surprised just how good you can become. Take any of the traditional children’s song and modify them tomeet your needs. This is a fun exercise for both you and yourchild and the benefits to this type of reading, recognizingsounds, and retentive memory is unbeatable.
